The Purpose of Life by Joshua Lybolt
“Would it not be strange if a universe without purpose accidentally created humans who are so obsessed with purpose?” – Sir John Templeton
You have a purpose.
You have a reason to be in existence
Joshua Lybolt is here on planet Earth; yes, you heard me I said planet Earth. I bring that up because I was in church yesterday and we had a guest speaker whose name was Lee Strobel. Lee spent a lot of time speaking about the universe and the origination of the universe.
Who is Lee Strobel and why is he at my church?
Lee Strobel was the chief legal editor for the Chicago Tribune. Prior to that role at the Chicago Tribune, he was an investigative reporter. Investigative journalism is a form of journalism in which reporters deeply investigate a single topic of interest. In other words, he researched subjects to deep to their origins to determine its truth and authenticity. Most of his life, he was a proclaimed atheist and he spent his life investigative reporting on atheism since it was his passion and core belief.
He investigated to determine whether there is or not a God that created our universe and whether he exists or not in the present. His goal was to prove through scientific proof that the existence of God is an impossibility.
So, What is the purpose of life?
Well, obviously our church service this weekend was extremely interesting. For an analytical type such as myself, I loved every bit of it! There was so much terminology and existential proof and research being thrown at us… for me, it was heaven on earth. It was laden with physical proof from different fields of sciences. He intertwined physical sciences with cosmology (the study of galaxies and the stars), threw in some astrology and mathematics, some biology (genetic code actually written within our DNA) and he even used philosophy and physics, natural physics. Remember, we’re still in church!
“If it’s true there’s a beginning to the universe, as modern cosmologists now agree, then this implies a cause that transcends the universe. If the laws of physics are fine-tuned to permit life, as contemporary physicists are discovering, then perhaps there’s a designer who fine-tuned them. If there’s information in the cell, as molecular biology shows, then this suggests intelligent design. To get life going in the first place would have required biological information; the implications point beyond the material realm to a prior intelligent cause.” – Stephen C Meyer, PHD
Lee spoke on decades worth of research from all of these different fields of science to try and debunk the existence of God. All of this research, to no avail. There was nothing that could eliminate the original and current concept of a God that created and a God that oversees.
“It was the evidence from science and history that prompted me to abandon my atheism and become a Christian.”―
There were a plethora of explanations as to why we exist and how we exist, creationism and the development of the universe.
So, I’m just here to bring a little bit of enlightenment to you in these times of need. We are not alone. You are not alone!
You are needed by those around you!
Maybe needed to carry out a divine mission from God!
To have an impact on someone close to you or just in passing.
You are here for a reason!
People come into your life for a reason and serve a divine mission. All of your experiences, your hardships, your trials and tribulations, your successes and your failures, everything that you accomplish and even don’t accomplish… All of this that we do and don’t do; are all put together for a purpose.
We are all very much like puzzle pieces making up ONE, UNIFIED, grand masterpiece of a complicated, well structured, strategic, amazing and beautiful puzzle, called LIFE.
However, we do not know how or why this all works out but I’m just here to inform you and to reinforce the idea that you have a reason, a very awesome reason to be here.
This week, I challenge you to do something great with your time here on earth and make an impact on someone’s life that you care about.
Your purpose of life could be to simply impact just one person, and by doing so, that person may go on to accomplish major goals to advance civilization.
“The universe is a soul making machine, and part of that process is learning, maturing, and growing through difficult and challenging and painful experiences. The point of our lives in this world isn’t comfort, but training and preparation for eternity.” – Lee Strobel
Again, we do not have to figure anything out, just be aware that our lives are for the betterment of civilization. You may not know what your purpose is for AND you may never know the reason while you’re here on earth. That’s right, you may never know during your lifetime, however, I do challenge you to make the very best of it while you are here. WE CAN AND WE ALL will make an impact on someone. So you see, that is why Joshua Lybolt suggests that there is a purpose of life.
